Neon D.I.Y.

Inspired by the original DIY designs of HonestlyWTF.com...I stumped upon a fabulous necklace I wanted to re-create!

:So I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up:

-Two packets of assorted sized gold colored rings
-Neon pink nylon cord
-A lighter
:Materials:

:Layout the design you want before you begin, and take a picture of it so you remember your end goal:

-Wrap the nylon cord around two rings, three times-
-Tie the ends in a knot, and snip off as much excess string from each end of the knot-
-Use the lighter to melt the nylon, fusing the knot you created together-
Progress....

:Create similar knots for the piece that goes around your neck, only trimming and melting one side, to create a seamless look:

And Finished!

Now you have a large statement necklace with perfect neon color for spring!

Have a crafty Tuesday,

What a STUD

Although punk would be the last word I would use to describe myself...I love studs!!
Since I've been bored with my closet lately, I found one alternative to spruce things up a bit.

Studs!  Which can be found at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

All you need are studs & a plain shirt, shorts, or whatever needs some glam :)

The studs have prongs that push through the fabric, so all you have to do is fold the prongs inward so they are secure.

:Spikey studs:

:Diamond studs:

SO...instead of spending $100 + just because a shirt you fell in love with has these extra embellishments, make it a DIY project for yourself!

Rent the Runway

Recently, I was told about the website RentTheRunway from my lovely friend Allie.
The website has hundreds of couture & high end brand dresses  from the latest lines depending on the season.  The dresses are anywhere from casual to formal, and can be rented for 4 or 8 days, for a fifth of the retail price.  RentTheRunway sends you the dress you select in two sizes, with no extra charge, to make sure you paid great money for a dress that fits well.  How perfect is this site!  I mean...how many times are you gonna wear a formal dress for a wedding or dance twice!?

Here are the dresses I have fallen in love with:

Tibi Venice Beach Maxi Dress
Rented for $100
Retail for $530

Z for Zac Posen Mercury Orange Sheath
Rented for $85
Retail $490

Proenza Schouler Tigerlilly Apron Dress
Rented for $175
Retail $1,165

Check out the website, definitely some fun online shopping!

Twiggy

Today was quite the productive Sunday!

Thanks to Pinterest I found some much needed inspiration for the bare spot on my living room wall.

The Materials are as follows:
Twigs
Hot glue gun
Large box frame with no backing or glass attached

:Excuse my lovely spring break jacket...haha, flip the frame backwards and place the twigs wherever you think they fit best:

:After about an hour of hot gluing, this was the final product.... SO EXCITED!
It's only hanging by two nails in each corner:

Hope you had a crafty Sunday!

A grateful thanks...

....To my beautiful friend/blogger Hannah.

Things are looking very different...and very FABULOUS on my blog now thanks to her talent!
Its like she read my mind with the new design, thus if you are looking for a new style and need a little help/inspiration, she's the perfect fit for you!  I promise :)

You can find Miss Hannah @ her blog:

Isn't she precious?

Now as my Saturday goes...I got a chance to browse a few antique stores today...and stumbled upon a frame for a project i've been wanting to craft up for my living room!

Can't wait to begin, just need to find some perfect twigs..haha.

Have a happy afternoon!

New blog Name & Layout

Sorry I've been swamped with papers and midterms...
I needed a fresh new blog start...thus "Once a Cheetah, Always a Cheetah" is here to stay!

Much more original, and much more fitting for me :)...
I love all things cheetah and punny sayings...so bingo!
Yet, still working on coloring and layout and such...bare with me (and shoot me insight if you'd like).

I'll be traveling to NYC for a quick spring break weekend in March with my boyfriend, needless to say I am SO EXCITED.  I cannot wait for all the shopping, restaurants, and pretty sights to take in!

This is the look I want to find:  a blush maxi pleated skirt and a black leather jacket!

So chic!

Have a happy Cheetah day!
